Okay - so I've never actually been to this candy shop, but my boss is from the area, heads back at least twice yearly and brings those delicious "Chippers" back for me!! Yes, rippled potatoe chips, covered in chocolate...weird, yet YUMMY. He's also brought back their jalapenos covered in chocolate, though I doubt they're called "chippers" I will eventually find myself up NoDak on business or some such and I will for sure be stocking up on the "Chippers" and whatever other chocolate covered goodness they got going!! YUM!

Took my sister here, she is visiting from out of state and I thought it would be fun to try something new. The lady at the front was rude to us. I felt very disrespected by her attitude and that my business was not appreciated. I've heard great things about the shop and was very disappointed with my experience. I do not plan to return based on how they treat new costumers.

Unique candy shop near downtown Grand Forks. The outside doesn't necessarily scream "candy store" (and it's next to an adult store, which makes you wonder if you're at the right address, haha), but the inside is an explosion of pastels and chocolate! I tried an assortment of the Chippers, which weren't quite as exciting as I hoped, but the peanut butter was my favorite. Of the items I picked up, the spuds were my favorite. They also have a great souvenir gift - North Dakota Products, which includes different chocolates coating soy beans, sunflower seeds, and some Chippers. Another unique item I saw was a chocolate turtle "dish" filled with little turtle candies. They have -so many- things, including an array of sugar-free items. Things seemed a bit pricey to me, but still impressed by selection.

Every few years I make it to Grand Forks. This time I came, my mom put in an order for Chippers. Leaving with three pounds of them and other assorted chocolates

I love this little shop, a true gem in Grand Forks. The people working inside have been as sweet to me as the candy. They give you a free sample every time (YAY!). They have a lot of different items so I usually try one of those (chocolate covered olives, jalapenos etc). My favorites are the dark chocolate covered salted caramels. Like heaven. Go here and get some candy, NOW!

This place is a blast from the past! Nice little candy shop that has a awesome product called Chipper! If you haven't had chipper you gotta try it! YUM! The two things i have tried here and didnt like though are Chocolate covered Olives and the Chocolate covered jalapenos, those two were not that great IMO. But the rest of the stuff here is so good its hard to pass up going here!

I was reading the reviews and learned I needed to purchase and try "chippers." I got them in dark chocolate and I have to say it is a must try. I think it is a little unusual and would probably like a thicker potato chip and less chocolate, but that's just me of course. I thoroughly enjoyed the chocolate covered bacon bits and jalapeno. I think the chocolate covered jalapeno was my favorite. Again, unusual, but somehow a VERY perfect combo. Going to buy more before returning home!!!

Just say YES to CHIPPERS. The challenge is trying to stop eating them. Mmmm.

Widmans candy shop has been there in Grand Forks as long as I can remember. I grew up in the area and our dad would take us there sometimes. Mr. Widman would always offer us a sample of something before we would decide on what to get :) We went back to Grand Forks this last summer and we stopped in at Widmans, and they still offered us a sample of a candy :) We go back to this wonderful candy store whenever we get back to Grand Forks, it wouldnt be the same if we didnt... They have the very best candy I have ever had! If you have never been there, you should make it a point to go there, it will be worth your while!!!

I have not been to the candy shop but have enjoyed the chippers when friends come to visit and bring us a new supply. The chocolate is delicious! If I was a traveling person, Widman's would be on my list of places to visit.

A throwback to old time candy shops, and their chippers (chocolate covered potato chips) are the most addicting things ever. Get their early cause they sell out, and be sure to try something because you get a free taste when you're there! Just a great family run place.

Grand Forks is lucky to have a candy shop of this caliber. Located in an out of the way spot Downtown, it's easy to miss. However, for those interested in walking in, you are in for a delight my friend. The candies they offer a quite good, but the star of the show has to be the "Chipper", which is a chocolate-covered potato chip. You're probably thinking that it's a strange idea, but it's fantastic. Somehow the chocolate and the chip meld together to form something quite tasty. Widman's offers a host of treats that are along the same lines of deliciousness. Grand Forks is very fortunate to have this place. A great place to go for a special treat.

I absolutely love Widmans! Chippers and chocolate covered caramels were always my favorites until they offered me a free sample. On a whim I gave the jalapenos a shot and I was hooked! A good old fashioned candy shop is hard to find and one of this quality is totally worth tracking down. Only a couple blocks off the main drag, its easy to miss if you're not looking for it, so GO LOOK FOR IT!

I'm amazed to find no reviews for this Grand Forks institution. Great, old-fashioned candy. The chocolate-covered potato chips are worth trying.
